August was full of moments with friends and glimpses into autumn’s arrival. I had such a great time and I can’t wait for September because I know it will be even better – vacation, baby! I’ve noticed how life keeps getting better and better and how I am embracing the little things even more and taking such joy in the smaller moments. Being positive and making the most of everything can be a feat sometimes, however, it does make life happier and stress-free most of the time. I am trying to continually give my worries to God and to believe better things are always on the horizon. That is my daily self growth (and struggle sometimes haha). Here are some of my favorite moments from the past month:
I love trying different food options in Richmond! (Scratch that, food options ANYwhere haha!) When I’m up early and feel like venturing outside for some sweetness on a lazy weekend morning, I like to go see what Dixie Donuts has behind the case. Originally starting out as only cake donuts, they have grown into a few new items, but still holding truest to their quirky flavors and moist, soft cake donuts. They are pretty bold when it comes to flavor combinations and they take full advantage of holidays (including national donut day) and seasonal flavors, so I applaud them. My favorite is the Samoa donut! Just like the girl scout cookie, but on a donut! I mean, yummy! They are open Tuesday-Sunday from 7am to 6pm. Located in Carytown in Richmond, Virginia – cattycornered from the Byrd Theatre. Definitely worth checking out if you’re ever in the area.
